Is Lyme Disease Biological Warfare Against Us?
About two months ago, a long-time and dear friend gave me a copy of
this book. As I began to look at it, I noticed it was fiction. "Judy, I
don’t have time to read novels," I said. "Oh, I know, James," she
replied, "but this is not necessarily fiction. I have known Les Roberts
going back decades and he told me it was the only way the story could be
told. It’s about government involvement in producing Lyme disease, you
know." Now she had my attention! I know a number of people who have Lyme
disease. Countless others are misdiagnosed for years by non-Lyme
Literate M.D.’s. As Judy knew, about the only fiction I have read over
the past several decades were the Robert Ludlum novels. I always felt
that Ludlum had inside sources. His novels always involved government
and behind-the-government conspiracies. I had read only a couple of
other novels (Clancy, Forsyth, etc.) but found none to compare with
Ludlum’s pulse-pounding style and which left the reader wondering, could
this really be truth wrapped in a fictional garb? (By the way, the movie
versions are far less-satisfying.)
I began reading The Poison Plum and had to put it down after
reading only about a hundred pages. The reason? I had to give my psyche
time to recover! There were so many characters, events, evil
machinations of government officials, etc. which I immediately
recognized as real people and truths I had known for many years, so that
I knew that Les Roberts was right: he had to tell it in the form of
fiction. I finished it the next week. It was every bit as gripping as a
Ludlum novel. I then made contact with the author and arranged to carry
the book (Barnes & Noble and Google have refused!). He sent me his
seven-page "My Story" which we will post on our website. It includes a
(very long) list of Lyme symptoms and numerous (allopathic AND
alternative) treatments which did and did not work. Chronic fatigue,
mental confusion, forgetfulness, weakness, joint pain and skin rashes
are only the tip of the iceberg. Lyme is diabolical. It masquerades (and
is hence misdiagnosed) as a host of other diseases. Les told me that one
in four (!) Americans now carries the Lyme spirochete, although it does
not always manifest immediately. It was almost fatal to Les. Lyme is
named for a town in Connecticut where it first broke out.
"Coincidentally," Lyme, CT just happens to be very close to the USDA
facility on Plum Island (off Long Island, NY). The building on the cover
is that facility. Les’ novel reveals that its true function is as one of
the top-secret bio-warfare facilities in the country, and that ticks
deliberately infected with an engineered virus were aerially dumped over
Lyme, Connecticut. Over the years, Lyme support groups have sprung all
over the nation and a tiny percentage of M.D.’s have braved the wrath of
the powers-that-be to search for answers and treat the increasingly vast
numbers of its victims.
"For Susan Collins, a single parent with a beautiful and healthy
eight year old son, the future had never looked brighter after
graduating summa cum laude with a doctorate in microbiology from UAB in
Birmingham. The acceptance of a high-paying position with a government
research laboratory provided the exciting opportunity to relocate to New
London, Connecticut, where she and her son, Toby, could begin a new life
and be re-united with Susan’s loving sister, Cathy. Soon after their
move to New London however, Susan finds herself struggling to discover
the cause of a mysterious disease which suddenly attacks little Toby,
leaving his life hanging precariously in the balance. With his doctors
baffled and hopes and dreams of a better life for them both shattered,
Susan relentlessly begins searching for answers and makes a stunning and
shocking discovery that changes her life forever. As the pieces of a
gigantic puzzle rapidly begin to come together, a frightful and
horrifying picture emerges which could have been ripped from today’s
headlines. Finally, Susan realizes that there can be no turning back
until the true source of Toby’s life-threatening affliction is
identified and revealed for all the world to see. With incredible
courage and tenacity, Susan battles for her son’s life while
simultaneously risking her own to expose the evil which potentially
threatens millions if not stopped. The exciting and shocking conclusion
reveals we are not alone in our struggles for truth, vindication and
justice."
