As a septuagenarian, I must confess that I am still learning to read. (Perhaps there is an opening for me at the Somali-owned daycare “Learing” Center in Minneapolis, eh?)
Regarding our room style choices as we make our reservations for the Conference, I had previously thought that only the rooms with a king bed had a separate living room with a sleeper-sofa; and that the rooms with two queen beds did not have a separate living space. But then I noticed that the Embassy Suites is an “all suites” facility. Hence, my need for “learing” to read again.
As I was looking at the various room styles at the Embassy Suites website this morning, I realized there are 18 different types shown in the photo line-up here. As you look at the rooms here, ignore the fact that it says “sold out;” that applies to rooms for today or whatever day you access this link.
After a brief discussion with the Sales Manager, I came to understand that our SKM Group Rate, although it is described as “run of the house,” that does not mean we have our choice of all the “premium” and other special rooms (with balconies, for example).
We are limited to the following:
1. a 2-room suite with one king bed and a sofa sleeper (sleeps 4)
2. a 2-room suite with two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. (sleeps 6)
If you need a handicap-accessible room, then you should call the hotel directly [423-602-5100] and mention you are with the SKM Group and request the type of accessible room you desire: with one king OR with two queens.
