The nation is riveted to the disappearance of NBC “Today” host, Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother, Nancy. Today is day 10. It is still dominating the news cycle on several major news networks.

We were almost ready to post this when I decided to check one last time to see if there were any updates. There is. So now it appears that we see some video of a person seeking to obscure—and eventually presumably remove the doorbell camera. Nonetheless, we shall continue with what we had prepared.

In this era of the ubiquity of high-tech devices in everyone’s hands (i.e., mobile devices), kidnappings for ransom in America are very rare. So we are told by the FBI and other law enforcement experts on TV news.

I am speculating here. It is increasingly looking like this too was not a kidnapping for ransom. A kidnapping (“man-stealing” in the KJV of the Bible), yes, it was a kidnapping. (“man” being generic for “person”) … but not for ransom.

Exodus 21:16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

While several ransom emails were received, there has been no proof-of-life in return. That leads me to suspect that the ransom demands were not from those who took Nancy, but were simply sent by other criminals seeking to “cash in” on Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

In our previous blog post about the Guthrie event we pointed out a couple of “interesting coincidences,” but beyond that we could not opine.

With still no significant progress (that the public is aware of) in finding Mrs. Guthrie, this writer is wondering if this was actually a “hit.” But what could the elderly Nancy Guthrie have done to have been targeted for murder? Probably nothing. Except that she is the very vulnerable mother of a world-famous news anchor.

We are very sad to opine that we believe it will eventually turn out to be a murder. By whom and why? It may end up being a murder carried out by a low-level criminal paid by, and ordered by, someone (or some group) of much higher-ups.

Why? To be a message, a warning to any other high-level media personalities to stay away from exposing the rich, powerful, and/or famous persons whose horrendous deeds are now being exposed by the latest tranche of Epstein files released by the Department of Justice.

For it was Savannah Guthrie who in 2019 was the first, or among the first, from the “mainstream” news outlets to interview the late Virginia Giuffre {pronounced JOO-fray}, one of the most famous and outspoken victims of Jeffrey Epstein. Giuffre allegedly committed suicide on April 25, 2025. Emphasis on “allegedly.”

The evidence for the awful actions of many persons on “Epstein Island,” and other Epstein properties is now being dripped out while still many redactions exist on many of the three million or more recently-released files.

These revelations are very damning to many of the powerful perpetrators and they will stop at nothing in order to prevent disclosure. Would they resort to murder? They are wicked; of course, they would!

Because this story has dominated the news cycle for ten days now, everyone in media circles will have gotten the message. The message is essentially: We are watching. If you try to expose us, we can hurt you very badly…by attacking your family first.

These are the tactics of criminal enterprises from time immemorial. The Bible gives us numerous examples. (Hear our series of 54 lectures, The Character of Saul and David, free to listen or download on this website.)

Here is an AI-overview: Savannah Guthrie Interviewed Virginia Giuffre

Yes, Savannah Guthrie conducted a first extensive television interview with Virginia Giuffre in September 2019 for NBC’s “Dateline”. The interview was part of a special episode titled “Reckoning”, which also featured other Epstein survivors, including Anouska De Georgiou, Rachel Benavidez, Jennifer Araoz, Marijke Chartouni, and Chauntae Davies.

In the interview, Giuffre detailed her allegations of being trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, including claims that she was directed to have sex with powerful figures such as Prince Andrew (formerly Duke of York). The segment gained renewed attention following the disappearance of Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, in February 2026. END of AI

We truly feel the pain of the Guthrie family and we do sincerely pray for Nancy to be found alive and unharmed.
