Early today I requested comments and observations from a number of close friends regarding President Trump’s address to the joint session of Congress last night. Here are some of their responses, all edited to some degree by me, and some with my comments interspersed within [brackets] or designated by “JWB.” We had more commenters responding—from Florida, Arizona, and elsewhere, but we do not have time to get them all in.
From a brother in NC: Loved the address to Congress. Reaction by the dumb Dems was just as expected. I am more concerned about the recent Supreme Court ruling telling Trump he had to release the funds for the USAID. [Chief Justice John] Roberts and [Justice Amy Coney] Barrett are proving to be fake conservatives.
JWB: Maybe we should call her “Amy Phony Barrett.”
From a sister in OH: Well, all the old bats (in government) are out of their caves for this speech. Trump sent out a tweet earlier. Get your popcorn ready.
Did you catch Melania’s first expression? Melania has concern for her husband’s entrance into the chamber. [Congresswoman] Nancy Mace [R-SC] sure is in the spotlight.
I like how Trump took time greeting the older SCOTUS Justices and all the military.
[As POTUS began his address and the Dem disruptions began, our correspondent commented:] VP Vance has his military eyes on. Pelosi looks very uncomfortable, squirming in her seat. The Dems have their little ping pong paddle messages, to no effect.
From a sister in GA: I was impressed with the speech and glad to see that he was giving credit to those on his team (e.g., Rubio, Bondi, Hegseth, Homan, etc.). I also thought it was a smooth move for him to have people there that could serve as examples to some of the issues he is trying to address.
Staging it in that way makes it all personal. I agree with a post that Kevin made that Democrats must be really embarrassed to be Democrats right now.
From another sister in GA: Here are the big takeaways I observed.
* Blatant disrespect: Democrats showed open disdain for Trump, with some turning their backs or walking out during the address:
* Removal of Al Green (D-TX). He was escorted out of the chamber after shouting that Trump did not have a mandate. I think there may have been some significant reason that this guy was chosen. [Yes, see below with the contribution of our brother and sister from TX.]
*The Golden Age: Trump reiterated his vision for a “Golden Age” in America, although details were scarce.
*Panama Canal: Trump mentioned taking back the Panama Canal, but didn’t elaborate on how or why.
JWB: Actually, he did give some details. He said we built it over a century ago for our use and we would allow other nations to use it. That it was built at a great cost in blood and treasure. Somewhere near 38,000 men died in its construction, and the cost in today’s dollars made it the most expensive project ever.
That the fool Jimmy Carter “sold” it to Panama for one dollar and Panama has broken the terms of the contract by allowing China to obtain de facto control by controlling both ends of the canal. Because Panama broke the contract, we are taking it back. A group [unnamed by POTUS] is already at work to take it back.]
*Tax Cuts. Trump highlighted several tax cuts, including
* no tax on tips
* no tax on overtime
* no tax on social security, and he added a new one
* no tax on a new car—as long as it was built in the USA.
[All of these must be written into law by Congress.]
These takeaways capture the essence of Trump’s speech, which was marked by controversy, confrontation, and a mix of policy proposals and flourishes. It appears that he has the support of the Republican majority.
From a brother in TN: We did not watch the speech, as we were tied up with family activities, but I did see several clips on Telegram.
It appears to me that the Show continues on, making slow and steady progress.
My family and I are tired of the movie, though, and want to skip to the final scene. Expose the beast and make public arrests. That would have been a great time to have U.S. Marshalls waltz into the room and start (publicly) handcuffing the traitors, traffickers, and accomplices, as well as making a public statement about being freed from the Rothschild’s banking system.
The people need a crash course in reality from the TOP at this point, never mind a confession of those involved.
JWB: All that is true and we, too, would love to skip to the final scene. But for many reasons too detailed to explain here, that cannot be done. Just because Trump has his team in the top positions does not mean it’s over. There are many swamp dwellers in every agency and every department of government.
They have been there for decades. They will be seeking to thwart justice and if that is not possible, they will attempt to delay their inevitable end by erecting procedural and other roadblocks, legal and illegal, as all the white team department and agency heads and the DOGE team move forward as rapidly as possible.
Witness the promise of DOJ head, Attorney General Pam Bondi, saying she had the Epstein list on her desk. But when she released it, it was “ho-hum, we’ve seen this stuff years ago.” She knew that but it was all a set-up to get the deep state to expose themselves. Since the first drop of the Epstein files, she now has hundreds if not thousands of pages of the Epstein files and we expect we will see them in the not too distant future.
Meanwhile, her action smoked out and we have seen the resignation a few days ago of the head of the FBI office in lower Manhattan, the center of much intrigue. Did you know James Comey’s daughter is a key person there? And her husband, likewise? Both are attorneys. And they have been up to their necks in the shenanigans against Trump behind the scenes.
The point is, just because the white hats are now in a position to act does not mean that DJT can send out the marshals or the military and round up the bad guys and tell the whole truth and that we are freed from Rothschild’s banking system. It is impossible for it to happen that fast. DJT is dismantling the Central Bank system as rapidly as possible, but it is going to take a while. Meantime, the swamp is now being drained and we must be patient.
From a brother in TX: Wow! What a night for America. We are back! Trump and team are geniuses. President Trump never discussed a topic that was not understood and accepted by the public except for the tariffs. He talked wins; he showed what he promised; he is delivering and we are winning.
These are things every American could see and appreciate. What ended up happening I think was that America seeing this, the wins, was asking themselves “how can they (the Dems/deep state) not stand for all these great wins?!”
[The simple answer is: because they (most of them) are simply wicked and they are doing everything they can to avoid their ultimate demise.]
It was all about exposure both ways, right? It showed to team Trump and to America those who are not on his side and therefore who aren’t on America’s side. Trump exposed the devil Dems and at the same time he showed the type of man and President he is, loyal and trustworthy.
My wife shared Facebook posts this morning on our daily (over a half-hour) commute to our offices and everything she read was how the D’s exposed who they truly care about, which is not America, but themselves. Crazy!
On a side note I am reading various people's opinions regarding the 1st amendment after last night's moment of embarrassment for Al Green as he got tossed for his outburst.
Free speech gives us the right to express ourselves without being censored. Those rights come with a need for respect, don't they? You have the right to make your statement and then respectfully I can make my statement whether I agree or not.
Similarly, you have the right to own and carry a gun but do you have a right to brandish that weapon? Or to discharge it unsafely or hurt someone? No. Gun owners also have rights. I think this whole 1st amendment free speech has given people a constitutional right to be disrespectful.
That's what the lefties want, disruption, disrespect, they want to use the 1st amendment to divide us and control us through the very amendment that gives us our freedom to speak. […which are typical communist-Saul Alinsky-Obama tactics.]
I say, if you can’t respect your boss, your parents, your President, perhaps you should find another place to live. [Yes, as in they are being cast out into “outer darkness.”]
The following is from my favorite telegram channel....
Al Green got kicked out at the same time stamp as a Q Drop [from December, 2017!!] that says “#FLYALFLY#”??? “Double Meanings Exist” FULL CONTROL [Here is the post.]

JWB: How does such a precise time coincidence happen!!?
From another brother in NC: Is it just a coincidence that the designated survivor cabinet member was the new Veterans Administration Secretary, Doug Collins, and that he is number 17 in line for the Presidency?

(Former GA Congressman, now VA Secretary, Doug Collins, speaking to our Henderson County Republican Women's Club May 20, 2023. Photo by James Bruggeman)
JWB: For newbies, Q is the 17th letter of the alphabet, and it is one reason (among many) why we listen to and share so many podcasts featuring Juan O Savin (Mr. 107 = 17; drop the zeros in number studies).
The recalcitrant Dems were acting like petulant children. They did not greet him or shake his hand, and many turned their backs to him as POTUS was introduced and entered the hall.
They would not stand or applaud—with one exception: when it came to Ukraine. Why would they only applaud Ukraine? In our studied opinion, it is because the billions of $ we have sent them have largely been laundered through Zelinsky and his henchmen, and a large portion of our taxpayer dollars to Ukraine have come back to the secret bank accounts of many of “our” Congressmen.
…Not to mention the pedophile and child sex slavery rings headquartered in Ukraine which we suggest that many of them are most likely involved in (per Q posts, if memory serves).
DJT related how the man who was recently released from a Russian prison and was reunited with his 93(?) -year-old mother who just happens to have lived (for many years) in Butler, PA! From which point, DJT reflected on the shooting and stated that he believes that God saved him to use him to make America great again!
Nice to see DJT growing more and more in faith in Him. As it was also a joy to see the other day in his first cabinet meeting that his new HUD secretary (a black man I had never heard of) give the invocation and concluded with “…in Jesus’ name we pray, amen”! To which President Trump responded, “That’s a really nice prayer!”
Amen, sir! Full steam ahead!
