Signs in the Heavens—Jesus or Elon?
What do you think of when you see this spectacular photo of the galactic center of a "nearby" galaxy? Credit: NASA and Hubble Space Telescope. Link below.

Psalm 19:1  The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Psalm 50:6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

The featured image above was released in late March this year. NASA and the astronomers affiliated with the Hubble Space Telescope tell us this sign in the Whirlpool galaxy is an “X”. Hello there, Elon! The “boy genius” (whom we actually admire in many respects) renamed Twitter as “X.” Elon also named one of his sons “X.”

But Christians often see things from a different angle. Hence, we might see this picture as a giant cross smack dab in the center of this phenomenal galactic neighbor. It almost looks as though there is a figure hanging on the cross!

Also known as Messier 51, the Whirlpool galaxy is “only” 31 million light years away. Which means that if we could travel at the speed of light (~ 186,000 miles per second), it would take us 31 million years to arrive at this galaxy.

Elon wants to go to Mars. Consider how puny is man! Some day, all people will bend the knee willingly and acknowledge in humble adoration that Jesus is King of all creation!

QUOTE:  This image of the core of the nearby spiral galaxy M51, taken with the Wide Field Planetary camera (in PC mode) on NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, shows a striking, dark "X" silhouetted across the galaxy's nucleus.

The "X" is due to absorption by dust and marks the exact position [as in “X” marks the spot? 😎] of a black hole which may have a mass equivalent to one-million stars like the sun.

The darkest bar may be an edge-on dust ring which is 100 light-years in diameter. The edge-on torus not only hides the black hole and accretion disk from being viewed directly from earth, but also determines the axis of a jet of high-speed plasma and confines radiation from the accretion disk to a pair of oppositely directed cones of light, which ionize gas caught in their beam.

The second bar of the "X" could be a second disk seen edge on, or possibly rotating gas and dust in MS1 intersecting with the jets and ionization cones. The size of the image is 1100 light-years. END QUOTE

When we gaze at this extraordinary photo reminding us of the cross of Jesus, we are fulfilling this Scripture.

Psalm 97:6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

Here is a link to the photo at the top, and to the short description we pasted above.
