Grandma’s onion-alcohol remedy

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Some time ago, good friends of mine shared a traditional recipe with me for a very inexpensive but effective remedy for pain relief.

I added “Grandma’s” to the title, but who knows who discovered this concoction, or when it was begun to be handed down; but certainly there were numerous “grannies” involved in its descent down to our generation.

My friends have both been afflicted with some serious pain in recent months/years. To the point of having to use one of the motorized buggies at Costco or Walmart if they had to pick up items from all over those massive stores.

The husband said if he had to walk all the way to the back of the store and back up front to check out his purchases, his legs were in pain so bad that he could hardly make it.

But after applying this mixture, he now accomplishes the same trip with ease and no pain. His wife had similar and remarkable results. I made the remedy and there it sat on my kitchen counter because I have not had any pain for some many weeks.

Then one day, I overdid it at the dance club. Our dancing venue has a concrete floor instead of wood, and I am not the only one who noticed some leg pains from dancing too much on that unfriendly floor. (The officers of the club are seeking a better venue.)

Anyhow, my leg pains were not severe, but enough that it was difficult to get to sleep. The next day, they were still aching, so I opened my jar of the concoction, took a cotton ball, dipped it in the jar and rubbed it gently over the whole area of my thighs and calves. It was remarkable. The pain subsided within about ten or fifteen minutes and did not return. That was several weeks ago.

I had another friend try it. He has more frequent pain than I do (neck, shoulders, arms from lots of physically hard work), and it also helped him immediately.

And yes, there might be the odor of onions about you, but it seems to dissipate quickly.

Here is how I was told to make it: Take a red/purple onion. (It has to be that type of onion for the particular chemical constituents.) Cut it in half and chop/dice it up. Do not mash it. (See photo to see the onions floating.)

Take a pint jar and put the diced onion in it. Buy a bottle of isopropyl alcohol. It has to be the 91% type; not the 70%! Pour it over the onion to near the brim. Seal it with a lid and ring. Let it sit for one full week, probably not in direct sunlight. It is ready to use after a week.

God bless you! And thank you, Father, for Your provision of this natural and inexpensive way to relieve “discomfort.”

DISCLAIMER: Of course, everyone knows that pain is the body’s natural way of telling us that something is amiss. Contact your medical practitioner if/when you deem it necessary.
