Mystery Babylon and the Stone Kingdom, part 105—Communism identified in Jeremiah
In the previous installment, we left off as the king of ancient Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, was relating the story of how he became proud, and was thereby dethroned by the Most High God as Nebby lost his mind for seven years and ate grass like a beast. We now back up two verses for continuity’s sake.
Daniel 4: 34 And at the end of the days [That is, at the end of the seven year sentence], I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth forever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
May we stop there for just a moment to reflect upon what we just heard from the lips and the heart of the king of Babylon? Would you not agree that the king of Babylon has just submitted to his humbling?
And as a result he makes such a statement extolling the sovereignty of God that it is scarcely equaled anywhere else in the Scriptures! Thereupon, the king gets his old job back.
36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
Wow! Again, what a remarkable statement of the overarching sovereignty of the one true God of the universe!
That, my friends, is the story of how the ancient king of Babylon came to believe and honor the one true God. Before we began reading in Daniel 4, I had stated this: I believe that what happened to the ancient king of Babylon will in some way also happen to the modern rulers of Mystery Babylon—with certain major differences this time around.
The chief difference is that whereas Nebuchadnezzar was restored to his throne over ancient Babylon, the modern kings of Mystery Babylon will not be restored to their dominion over the globe. That is because, as we have seen over many lectures, Mystery Babylon will be superseded by the Stone Kingdom in its fulness.
You will note that during the reading of the story, that I emphasized the term “seven times” where ever it arose. We saw that in the life of Nebuchadnezzar this turned out to be seven years, and after that period of time elapsed his sanity returned. So why didn’t God see fit to simply say “seven years” instead of “seven times?”
The reason is because this is a dual prophecy. It had a short term fulfillment in the life of Nebuchadnezzar personally, but it also has a long term fulfillment over the course of “seven times.”
We have discussed this term in previous lectures, but let me quickly give you the basics: a time in the Bible has the value of 360. It designates the completion of a cycle or a circle which has 360 degrees.
A “time” therefore can refer to one cycle of the rotation of the earth, a day and a night, 24 hours, which we often designate as a day, which includes the night portion. So if we divide 360 degrees by 24 hours, we find that one hour equals 15 degrees.
And we find that is the calculation which is applicable in the story of the sundial of Ahaz going backwards 10 degrees, which means it went backwards 10 divided by 15, or two-thirds of an hour. So the sundial went backwards 40 minutes. That story is in Isaiah 38 and we will not take the time to discuss it here.

Now the term “a time” can also have prophetic significance to measure days or years. So a “seven times” period can refer to seven days, or seven years (as in the short term prophecy for Nebuchadnezzar) or in the long range prophecy, seven times means seven multiplied by 360 years, for a total of 2,520 years.
As I said, we discussed that period in earlier lectures and linked it with the Stone Kingdom in America because it just happened to calculate out to the year 1776. Some might call that a coincidence, but many of us have learned to recognize the sovereignty of God in ALL things, including bring His own Word to pass, though centuries—even millennia—may pass. Well, it turns out that the same time period of 2,520 years also has another application.
Just as seven times referred to the seven years of the king of Babylon’s insanity, so also it applies in the long term to the seven times 360 years, or the 2,520-year period of the madness of the Babylonian succession of empires.
The king of Babylon set the pattern for the entire period of 2,520 years. He was insane for seven years. The Babylonian succession of empires has been an insane system and has in turn made the nations mad for 2,520 years.
Notice that twice in the story, in verse 15 and in verse 23, it refers to the fact that although the tree was cut down, its stump and its roots survived. We obviously understand how that applied to King Nebuchadnezzar and how he regained his kingdom, but those are also clues that this has a long-term fulfillment. How so? Let’s re-read verse 15:
15 Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:
Thinking back to Daniel chapter 2, what did the brass and the iron represent? They were part of the Babylonian succession of empires, weren’t they? The brass referred to the Greek empire and the iron represented the Roman empire.
And the Roman empire itself was two-fold. There was (1) the pagan Roman empire and it was followed by (2) the so-called Holy Roman empire, or we call it the papal Roman empire.
And of course, by the time of the decline of papal Rome in the late 1700s, we are at the time of the rise of both Financial Mystery Babylon and the rise of the Stone Kingdom in America.
Therefore, what verse 15 shows us is that while the tree of the ancient Babylonian empire was cut down, that each of the successive empires encompassed Babylon even to its roots. In other words, while each of the successive empires obtained its time of supremacy, it incorporated into its very core, the economic, religious and political principles of ancient Babylon.
With each succeeding empire having its roots hidden deep in the earth, Babylon itself has remained “underground,” so to speak, hidden from view, all down through the centuries, even until today in what John in the book of Revelation describes as Mystery, Babylon the Great.
Someone is sure to be wondering, “Well, okay, that seems to make sense, but it only mentions the brass and the iron, why was the silver empire left out?” Very simple. Recall that when ancient Babylon fell, the city fell intact to the Medes and the Persians.
They were the chest and arms of silver in the image in Daniel, chapter 2. The headquarters of the silver empire remained in the city of Babylon right on up until Alexander the Great took over. He remained there only a short time and then he died at age 33.

At that time, the center of the succession of empires never returned to the ancient city of Babylon. But its life blood, its economic system of gold-backed money, along with usury, continued all down through the ages.
At this juncture, let me offer another word to the “gold bugs” in my audience. I am not against owning gold, and I very strongly suggest that one own some silver for the days ahead. At this time, silver is a much better buy, in my opinion. But my statement earlier still stands.
It was to the effect that the time of gold being the standard and the backing of the world’s money system is coming to an end. More on that later in this series. Back to Daniel 4 and verse 16.
16 Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
We have a mixing of metaphors and symbolism going on here. The king of Babylon and the empire itself are represented by a great tree in verse 15, but now we see the metaphor—technically, it is a simile—shifting from the plant to the animal kingdom because it tells us that Nebuchadnezzar becomes as a beast for seven years. And what does he do? He eats grass.
According to Isaiah 40 and 1 Peter 1, grass represents people. Interpreting this on the seven-times-360-years scale for long term prophecy then, we would offer this. That all down through the ages, the Babylonian succession of empires, at its heart, at its core, has been a beast system, inimical to the interests of the ordinary person. In a phrase, the beast system “eats” people!
I have some astounding connections and information to further elaborate on this, but I will save that until next time because there is insufficient time remaining today to present enough to where it makes sense, and staggering sense at that. So yes, that’s a tease, but you will not be disappointed.
Meanwhile, to begin to close out this chapter, let us examine some other metaphors and figures of speech relative to Babylon and/or its succession of empires. First, go to Jeremiah 50. This is a prophecy concerning the doom of Babylon.
It will also have a dual fulfillment. It was obviously fulfilled when the Medes and Persians conquered it. But as you read through the entire chapter 50 sometime, because we do not have time today, you will find a number of verses which could not possibly apply to ancient Babylon.
Just to give you one example, we see that the first three verses could clearly apply to ancient Babylon, but then we come to this in verse 4.
Jeremiah 50:4 In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD [Yahweh], the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD [Yahweh], their God.
While much of the Christian world today is woefully ignorant of the differences between the two families of Israel and Judah, we can see in this verse that it could not possibly apply to the pre-Christian era for the simple fact that only the House of Judah was taken in the Babylonian Captivity.
The ten northern tribes of the House of Israel had already been deported to the area of the Caucasus Mountains region in the mid-700s B.C. and they never returned to the old land of Israel. So that verse alone tells us there has to be a long term fulfillment to this prophecy.
Of course, serious Bible students also know the John the Revelator used this chapter concerning Babylon and based his prophecies concerning Mystery Babylon on some of these verses. With the long term nature of this chapter now established, let me inform my younger listeners and refresh the memories of the older ones concerning world communism.
A number of lectures back, we showed the biblical connection between the House of Esau-Edom and the color red. We noted how the Rothschilds had changed their name from Bauer to Rothschild, which in German means Red Shield.
We have shown how the Rothschilds and a relative handful of other families of Edom are in control of Mystery Babylon the Great. That their color is red is beyond question. We have also noted that communism did not begin with Karl Marx.
We further know that world communism has been financed and controlled by Edom and Financial Mystery Babylon from the outset. It is not surprising then that the flag of communism is a red background upon which are set the intertwined symbols of the hammer and sickle.

I am only guessing but it seems reasonable to me that the individuals who actually chose those symbols for the red flag probably chose them to supposedly unite the workers of the world. The hammer would symbolize manufacturing and industrial workers, whereas the sickle would represent the agricultural workers.
But in Jeremiah 50 we find that God connects both the hammer and the sickle with Babylon.
Jeremiah 50:15 Shout against her round about: she hath given her hand: her foundations are fallen, her walls are thrown down: for it is the vengeance of the LORD [Yahweh]: take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, do unto her.
Look at the similarity to how John wrote about the fall of Mystery Babylon, (in this year of 2021, we can say with confidence... coming soon, to a nation near you!)
Revelation 18:6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
When Jeremiah wrote his prophecy, the fall of ancient Babylon was still decades in the future. When John “borrowed” from Jeremiah, the old city/empire of Babylon was history of centuries past, so therefore John was prophesying about the fall of Mystery Babylon which we are currently privileged to be witnessing! Now here in Jeremiah 50, verse 16, we find the sickle.
Jeremiah 50:16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn everyone to his people, and they shall flee everyone to his own land.
There are at least two things we can glean from this verse: One: that evidently there are all kinds of different ethnic groups living in Babylon at the time of its doom, and secondly, it seems like this doom will peak around the time of harvest. Could that be why we seem to always see the great financial crises around the month of October? Now drop down to verse 22.
Jeremiah 50:22 A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.
23 How is the hammer of the whole earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!
Clearly, Babylon is the hammer of the whole earth. God set up the Rothschilds who in turn set up the red communism of Mystery Babylon to be a hammer that would crush and pulverize other nations, but in the end, the communist-Edomite-Mystery Babylonian hammer itself is pulverized.
And if you recall one of our flagship passages in all these chapters of the MBSK studies is Daniel 2, verses 34 & 35, in which we find that God’s Stone Kingdom will strike the image, which represents the combined Babylonian succession of empires all wrapped up in one.
And when the Stone Kingdom hits the feet of the image, it ultimately causes the whole ungodly beast system to come crashing down in pieces so small that it is likened to the chaff of a threshing floor.
Daniel 2:34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

Brothers and sisters, there is a time coming soon when, like Nebuchadnezzar of old, the kings of modern Mystery Babylon will also know that the most High God rules in the kingdom of men. We have a whole lot more to share in regard to some of the threads which we have begun to weave into the tapestry today, so stay tuned next time.
Meanwhile, let not your heart be troubled and be not fearful. For what looks so disastrous in these days is really the demise, the fall of Mystery Babylon, and it means there is a seven times brighter future ahead as God’s Stone Kingdom with Jesus Christ as King arises to its ultimate prophetic fulfillment and His righteous government spreads across the entire globe. Glory be to King Jesus Christ! Glory be to God and amen!
(The Mystery Babylon and the Stone Kingdom series will continue in Chapter 37.)
