It happened in 2024, but only now is it getting global publicity. Our good friend, a former pilot, whose father was a pilot and whose son is still a pilot and who flew an Airbus 320 for Delta, told us yesterday of the incident.
On January 25, 2024, two Batik Air pilots in Indonesia fell asleep simultaneously for 28 minutes during a flight carrying 153 passengers at 36,000 feet, causing the Airbus A320 to veer off course.
Fortunately, after 28 minutes, the co-pilot woke up and the pilots were then able to land the plan safely at its destination, even though it had veered off course. The whole story as shared with us came from this link, and another report yesterday appeared in the Times of India and it is here.
The “how” and the “why” and the safety issues raised by the incident are all discussed in the above links.
This office, however, is focused on God’s “sign language” in the story. Those of us who have studied Bible gematria and/or biblical numerology are immediately alerted by the number 153 figuring prominently in the story.
Here are the numerical associations in the Bible for the key numbers in the story.
36 is associated with: adversary, enemy. (In the study of Bible numbers, one can drop the zeroes.)
28 is associated with: the leading of the Spirit; eternal life
153 is associated with: sons of God
32 is associated with: covenant. The 32 comes from the A320, after dropping the zero.
So as a cursory interpretation, we find the sons of God (overcomer, first fruits company of Christians) who are being transported through enemy territory because the altitude given was 36 thousand feet.
Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Who is transporting these 153 sons of God? Two men who are “asleep at the wheel”; in this case, asleep at the yoke. They have no idea what they are doing (because they are essentially unconscious).
Do these pilots represent many of the pastors and ministers in the church at large who are blinded (spiritually) and hence “asleep,” and unable to lead the flock of overcomers.
These sons of God, however, are not asleep. As passengers in the A320, many of the sons of God still sit in the pews as their churches are being “piloted” by blinded ministers.
But, praise God, because for the 28 minutes that the pilots/ministers were asleep, the Holy Spirit has been leading the 153 into eternal life—albeit, without the conscious participation of the pilots/ministers.
Moreover, it is God’s unfailing covenant which is the vehicle (Airbus 320/32) to transport the 153 through the territory of the prince of the power of the air and deliver them into eternal life in the kingdom of heaven upon the earth.
