As the post time of the Derby approached on Saturday evening I was in communication separately with two other brethren. After hearing on Friday that “American Promise” was in the race, I had not given a serious look at the rest of the field until about a half hour before the run for the roses.

At that time, however, the other brethren quickly pointed out that there were some other very interesting names of horses in the 11/8 mile contest. The consistent favorite right up until they came out of the chutes had been “Journalism.” This, of course, was a “gimme,” easy to understand that it represented the legacy, formerly mainstream, now “fake news” media.

It would have been a not-so-good sign if “Journalism” had won. “American Promise” placed 16th in the field of 19 horses. Sixteen in the Bible is associated with God’s covenant, so we are satisfied with that.

Other horse names we discussed were “Chunk of Gold” with POTUS repeatedly referring to America as now entering our “Golden Age.” DJT may or may not know it, but to Bible students, the thousand-year millennial Kingdom of God, aka the Stone Kingdom, upon the earth is the Golden Age.

“Final Gambit” symbolizes the Mystery Babylonian cabal which is in the process of being destroyed (much of it manifesting as self-destruction). We are witnessing their “final gambit.”

“Sandman” spoke to me as representing those fellow citizens who are still asleep or just now awakening and rubbing the “sand” from their eyes.

“Publisher” which finished in 14th can be associated with either the “fake news” or the new media, or a small town local paper, the kind which still serves the people in their community honestly. We have a good brother who does just that and the two of us discussed the results later.

The new media would also include the millions of ordinary “citizen journalists” and Bible teachers (such as ourselves here at Stone Kingdom Ministries) who have access via the world wide web to publish the good news of Jesus Christ to the world. The number 14 is biblically associated with deliverance, release, and salvation. We’ll gladly accept that.

Finishing in 17th was “Render Judgment.” Anyone with their eyes open to what’s been happening, particularly over the past ten years, can see that America has been under divine judgment. The number 17 from the negative side connotes destruction, but the biblical association is with victory. We can see that God is in the process of both and again, we say “amen” to whatever the Father is doing.

If our early favorite “American Promise” was foreordained in the sovereignty of God to fail to win the roses this year, then we could not have been more joyful than to see the three-year-old colt named “Sovereignty” in the winner’s circle!

Many MAGA supporters and Christians immediately saw the divine touch in the symbolism. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, an outspoken Christian, posted this on X: “Sovereignty > Journalism. On the track. And in 2025 America.”

We hope that Hegseth was not only referring politically to a sovereign America, but also spiritually to the overarching sovereignty of God. To add a bit more to the sign language, it turns out that “Sovereignty” was bred and owned by a sheikh from Dubai, and the name of his horse-racing enterprise is Godolphin.

So in this first leg of the Triple Crown for 2025, our Sovereign God, the heavenly Father, has beaten the Babylonian Media, the fake news, which showed up symbolically in this contest as “Journalism.”

Or, dropping down from the spiritual level, to the 30,000 foot level of political symbolism, we interpret it as this: The sovereign nation of America is finding its strength once again (of course, all by divine sovereignty and predestination) and with DJT as the tip of the spear, is in the process of vanquishing the fake news of journalism, that His Truth may prevail.

Most readers are aware that we have written a 350+ page book called The Sovereignty of God. It is available for $20 + $7 s & h. Send orders to PO Box 9, Fletcher, NC 28732.
