Mystery Babylon and the Stone Kingdom, part 92—The Feet Company in America!
Today we shall conclude this chapter, but not before startling many readers with what I shall suggest is a fulfilled prophecy. I left off last time by stating we need to first review some basic doctrines regarding the body of Christ. The apostle Paul, under the guidance and inspiration of God, described the assembly of the called out ones, i.e., the church, as the body of Christ.
For example, there is a long passage in 1 Corinthians, chapter 12, where Paul discusses how believers in Christ are all called, each for his or her own unique and special place in this mystical body of Christ.
Paul describes some as eyes, some as ears. There are some who are shoulders, some are legs or feet, and Paul even admonishes us not to disdain those parts of the body that the King James translators delicately calls the “uncomely” parts. Because, Paul explains, all the parts of the body are necessary, and all the parts should work together in unity—oh,...
How has that worked out for the past two thousand years? Not too well, isn’t that true? After all, there are presently somewhere around 15 hundred or more, different denominations, sects, movements, etc., all of which call themselves Christian.
Moreover, consider all the wars and bloodshed over these past 20 centuries where Christians in one nation fought against Christians in another nation. We can honestly say that, from that standpoint, the church has been an utter failure!
And yet, students of the deeper truths of Scripture understand that this is exactly the way that our heavenly Father had it all planned out. And why we await the return of Christ and the transformation into incorruptibility, at which time the gates of hell shall not have prevailed against the church. Paul concludes that passage by saying this:
1 Corinthians 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
Here is a fundamental question, the answer to which all Christians, even babes in Christ, should know: Who is the head of the body? Our Lord Jesus Christ, of course. But now here is a question with an increased level of difficulty.
You just answered correctly and yet in that passage in 1 Corinthians, Paul said some are the eyes and some are ears, and yet eyes and ears are part of the head, so what gives? Have you ever thought about that?
I think the answer to that is in the meaning of the word “head.” While in our physical bodies, the eyes and ears are part of our literal head, does it not make sense that when we speak of Jesus as the Head, that we are speaking of Jesus as the chief executive of the body, the brain, the mind, the One who is in control of the entire body. Does that make sense?
Now for the next part of laying the foundation before we go to the book of Zechariah. Some of you scriptural treasure-seekers, some of you mature students of the Bible understand that we can see the metaphorical and mystical body of Christ all over the Scriptures in prophetic types and shadows. For example, in that passage made famous in Handel’s magnificent oratorio, Messiah, it says in
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
I do not have time to go into the proofs of it here, we have certainly discussed it in our lecture series on Joseph the Patriarch, that the descendants of Joseph, that is, of Ephraim and Manasseh, would fulfill the role on a national—and ultimately on a global scale of being the administrators— the government for the rest of the world. That is in keeping with the covenant promises made to Abraham that his seed would be heirs of the world.
Now, think of a woman giving birth. And the woman is the nation Israel. In a normal birth, what part of the body is born first? The head, right? Thus, looking at the mystical body of Christ, we have Jesus the Head, who was born 2,000 years ago. He was from the tribe of Judah.
The neck would be birthed next, and as we have shown previously, when Judas was replaced, all 12 apostles were from Galilee, which was the land where the Benjamites had settled. So Benjamin is the Neck Company, as it were.
We have just mentioned the Shoulders as being symbolic of Ephraim and Manasseh. So moving on down the body, in a normal birth, what part of the body would come out of the womb last? The feet, right? And so, over the past 2,000 years, the body of Christ has been in the process of being born.
I do not mean to imply that there were no mystical feet until relatively recently, but I believe that members of all parts of the body have been in the process of being born all throughout the past 2,000 years.
Now, among the twelve sons of Jacob-Israel, the youngest son was Benjamin. So he was the last one of the twelve to be born. And perhaps you have not thought of it in this context before, but could these words not apply to Benjamin? ...our Lord’s words that [Matthew 20:16 So] ... the last shall be first, and the first last?
Benjamin was the last and yet when the king came from Judah, Benjamin was the first to recognize Him and proclaim Him. And yet, in another ironic twist, Benjamin is both first and last in the church age because besides being the neck, Benjamin also represents the Feet in the body of Christ.
I do not have time to go into expounding the reasons for that here, but one reason can be found in the positioning of the tribes of Israel around the Tabernacle in the Wilderness and how that played out geographically as the tribes migrated over the centuries into Europe and then into North America. It’s a long study. So, if you will accept that for now, that Benjamin represents the Feet Company, then I have one further question for you.
Are we so sure that the Feet Company is only now being born, or is it possible that the Feet Company have been around and doing their work (albeit, imperfectly like the rest of the church, but doing their work nonetheless) for quite some time now? Would you allow that as a possibility?
After all, if you have been listening to this series all along, you will recall how we demonstrated that certain single lines of prophecy in the book of Daniel, encompassed periods of hundreds of years.
I have laid all this groundwork to prepare you for what I recognize will be a shocking proposal to many of my Christian brothers and sisters, particularly those who have grown up accepting the traditional fundamental and/or evangelical interpretations of certain verses as having only one meaning.
I spent half a lecture recently dealing with one verse in particular, Zechariah 14:4, which we have all been taught refers to the second coming of our Lord, and that He will visibly return to the literal Mount of Olives just east of the old city of Jerusalem.
I made my case that that verse can be interpreted just as accurately symbolically, perhaps even more so than literally when we understand that the mount of Olives is the nation or nations of Israel in these latter days.
And that the Jerusalem in this verse is not the old city but the New Jerusalem, and these both find their fulfillment in the United States. And remember, the word “states” has always been a virtual synonym for “nations,” and so the united states of America are really the nations of latter day Israel who are united under one government here in this second promised land, the one which was prophesied in 2 Samuel 7, verse 10.
But if you recall from that discussion from a few lectures back, I essentially ignored the rest of the verse. And it left my listeners with the impression that Jesus would return to His people here in America and His literal feet would touch down somewhere in America.
Having laid the groundwork concerning the body of Christ and the fact that Christian believers make up the various parts, including the Feet Company; let us now proceed.
Zechariah 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east,
Can you see how that just might be talking about the Feet Company instead of the literal feet of Jesus? Can you see how this Feet Company is not an organized denomination, but is invisible in the sense that it does not have a letterhead and a street address?
Nor does it have a body of elders, and certainly not a college of cardinals—or any such hierarchy that directs its work, but that it consists of individual Christians from all kinds of denominations and sects who just go about carrying the gospel to any and all? Can you see how that describes the “Feet who will stand in that day upon the mount of Olives?”
In that day. What day is that? First, it is clear it is not a 24-hour day; but it is a period of time—a period of time which would include or perhaps precede the rest of the verse, and what happens in the rest of the verse? What happens to the nations of Israel, the mountain of olives who are regathered here in America?
Zechariah 14:4 …and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
Do you see it yet? Of what event is this a perfect description? The Civil War! The word “cleave” there means to split apart or to be rent open. The Union of states temporarily split apart from east to west along what is known as the Mason-Dixon line. With that split what happened?
“… and there shall be a very great valley;”
In other words, a very huge gorge, an almost unbridgeable political chasm appeared between the states
and half of the mountain {or nation} shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
We are coming to a close for this lecture, but let me just go through the rest of this passage to briefly point out a few more keys to understanding.
5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal:
The word “reach” also means to “arrive” and the word “Azal” means “reserved.” This describes those who had fled to and arrived at this land of America, the land reserved for the saints in the latter days! Hallelujah!
5 … yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD [Yahweh] my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
When the people of Christian Israel came to these shores, they came with their Bibles and came to establish the kingdom of heaven for and under Jesus Christ. In other words, “my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.”
6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
And for 400 years now, the light of the gospel which the saints have understood has not been clear, nor dark. In other words, our understanding of God’s Word has been imperfect. And then it goes on to describe what is yet to be fulfilled when Christ returns with his overcomer saints in immortal bodies and at that time we will see a much greater light—as in, “seven times greater.”
7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD [Yahweh], not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
We are in that evening time, awaiting that greater light.
8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
9 And the LORD [Yahweh] shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
I will close with this. Is it not amazing that our Civil War was right there all this time and we have not seen it? And there is much, much more that could be added, but this is one of those cases where, like Peter on the day of Pentecost—except in our case it is about 147 (now ca. 156) years after the Civil War and we can say, “Aha, this is that...this is that about which the prophet Zechariah spoke! Praise the Lord. Amen!
