NKJ 3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
Regular readers may have noticed that in the above Scripture (hopefully now familiar to us all) that we have emphasized a different clause than that which we normally emphasize.
The reason is because this story is not merely about health, but as much or more so about politics. American Christians are now waking up rapidly to the fact that if we “just want to be left alone,” then we are going to lose all our liberties and, in the process, probably very many will lose their lives.
Unless one has been living on Mars or in a cave for the past 20 years, one knows about the courageous stand taken by the founder, S. Truett Cathy, of the Chick-fil-A fast food chain; namely, that he bucked the tide of almost all other national chain stores by having his restaurants closed on Sundays.
(I don’t feel that old, but I clearly remember growing up in the 1950s in rural Ohio and almost everything was closed on Sundays—including most gas stations. Many states had what were called “blue laws” which mandated closures. There were rational (and bible-based) exceptions, of course, such as hospitals, police and fire. How far we have fallen!)
So when I describe Mr. Cathy’s corporate policy as “courageous,” it truly is. Of course, Christians admire his stand and the Leftist collectivists, communists, and duped liberals detest the policy.
Now comes this. QUOTE:
The New York State Assembly’s Rest Stop Restaurant Act would apply to Chick-fil-A, which is famously closed on Sundays.
The bill claims that being closed on Sundays is a “disservice and unnecessary inconvenience to travelers.”
“While there is nothing objectionable about a fast food restaurant closing on a particular day of the week, service areas dedicated to travelers is an inappropriate location for such a restaurant,” the bill states, in part.
“Publicly owned service areas should use their space to maximally benefit the public. Allowing for retail space to go unused one seventh of the week or more is a disservice and unnecessary inconvenience to travelers who rely on these service areas.”

While we do not like to hear of this attack on Chick-fil-A, perhaps it is one of our heavenly Father’s ways of disciplining His children. One does not have to be all that keen of an observer of political affairs to see that one cannot compromise with evil—with the Leftists, Dems, socialists, etc.
Give them an inch, and next time they will offer to “compromise” as they take a mile. Compromise? That’s what RINO’s do. Instead, stand fast!

Perhaps many readers do not know that Chick-fil-A has been compromising for years now. With the passing of Truett Cathy in 2014, it seems the policy of compromise set in within the upper ranks of the company, including its foundation.
I thought we had published about that “fall from grace” in a blog several years ago, but a quick search comes up empty. We must have merely had it in our “holding tank” for posting later. In any event, back in 2019 many publications excoriated Chick-fil-A for their “fall from grace.”
Fox News reported on this and USA Today even published an opinion piece by Family Research Council VP for Communications, Mr. J. P. Duffy, whose first job was at a Chick-fil-A store. Duffy opined this in USA Today. QUOTE:
… On Sunday Nov. 17, [2019] Chick-fil-A was closed, as usual, but on Monday the company’s charitable arm cut off future donations to the Salvation Army and sent a check to the Covenant House, a group that has hosted a local Drag Queen Story Hour and celebrates LGBTQ pride.
[Who would have thought that a group with the name “Covenant House” would be hosting such abominations?! Oh, but wait, that shouldn’t be any surprise. After all, churches in the “liberal” denominations have ordained homosexuals/lesbians and are “inclusive” in their congregations.
And even the Roman church’s pontiff is now saying it’s okay for his Roman Catholic clergy to bless same sex “unions.” This should be a huge wake-up call / bucket of cold water in the face to many formerly sleeping Catholics.
Do they still believe that the pope is infallible when he speaks about doctrine—which he certainly is in that proclamation!? Come out of her, my people, says the Word of God.

No arbiter of justice: The Southern Poverty Law Center is a hate-based scam that nearly caused me to be murdered[.]
A recent Chick-fil-A tax report also shows donations to various leftist groups or groups with leftist affiliations. But the biggest shock came when Chick-fil-A donated to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a group with a track record of labeling Christians as haters or groups following Christian beliefs as “hate groups.” END QUOTE
Yes, indeed! And we (SKM) were in the vanguard of being a target of their antichristian attacks. In the spring of 1996, the Asheville Citizen-Times (owned by the Gannett chain, publishers of USA Today) in their Sunday edition, had a top of the front page headline across all columns of the entire front page proclaiming “Hate Groups in Western North Carolina.”
The story carried to the inside pages and was a large feature story, primarily about yours truly and our work. I broke my own advice to others as I submitted to a three-hour interview with the snake reporter. I had always advised others to never speak to the BM. (The Babylonian Media, aka, the Main Stream Media, aka, the legacy media.)
This local rag clearly already had the story prepared because it was wholly based on the lies in “national report” by the SPLC, which had mailed their glossy, TIME magazine-style report to the offices of Asheville Citizen-Times.
Of course, the story was full of outright lies and half-truths (which are also lies) invented by the SPLC, which the local rag simply regurgitated and slightly rewrote.
The “reporter,” however, did provide balance in the article (sarcasm intended), presenting my side with a single sentence at the very end of the lengthy story, saying this (going from memory): Bruggeman denies he is a “hate group.”
The repercussions from this event were quite distressing and painful—more for my late wife Roxanne than for me, but that is a story much too long to detail here.
When I was in J-School (Journalism) at Ohio State, I spent a number of quarters writing articles for our daily newspaper, The Lantern. The circulation was about 55,000 copies per issue.
Ask me if I have any sympathy for the Leftist rag, the Asheville Citizen-Times, now that its circulation has dropped drastically down to about 26,000. No tears shed here.
Oh, one more thing. In feeling the wrath of the SPLC those many years ago, my research about the founder, Morris Dees, showed that the apple does not fall far from the tree. Morris was recently forced to resign over a sex scandal, but his background is telling.
The SPLC organization is based in Alabama. Morris’s middle name is Seligman. The Seligman family were Jews who migrated to America and settled in Alabama in the 1800s, and somehow got into banking (sarcasm). They became known as “the Rothschilds of the South.” Hmmm… Any questions?

By the way, I always thought their regular chicken sandwich was so tasty. But I always got that thick, sluggish feeling in my gut after eating one. Wonder what’s in that sandwich—“natural flavoring” from Syngenta? Syngenta is owned by ChemChina, a Chinese state-owned (i.e., Chinese Communist Party) business.
Last time I ate one was at a group meeting (not a SKF group, but a meeting of a local board on which I serve) where they provided Chick-fil-A sandwiches for the board members. I appreciated the good intent, and yes, I could have turned it down, but I didn’t—and felt the sluggishness later.😒
Last week at a more recent board meeting, they provided a selection of three pizzas; one with ham, one with sausage, and the third with bacon. I politely declined—and felt good all afternoon. 😊
Recall that we posted a blog on November 28, 2023 in which we quoted from an article posted by Moms Across America in which they reported test results from numerous fast food chains.
This bears repeating: “One sample from Chick-fil-A contained a contraceptive and antiparasitic called Nicarbazin, which has been prohibited.”
