I am deeply saddened to announce that my son, David, passed away early this morning (Eastern time), probably just before midnight (Phoenix, AZ time). He had been transported there a couple weeks ago to a clinic that specializes in “hopeless” cases.
He had lived his entire adult life from age 21 to the present in the Mt. Hood/Hood River, Oregon area. He was the father of six daughters, the youngest of whom is nine, with one granddaughter and another on the way. David was 53.
At this point I am still in a daze (having gotten no sleep last night). Shortly before midnight my time, I received a text from his 25-year-old daughter, Annie, that she had to rush him to the ER at a Phoenix hospital due to severe pain in the abdomen.
The ER staff found his blood pressure dangerously low and could not give him additional pain meds because it would likely further lower his BP. At 3:07 a.m. she texted again, “He did not make it.”
I am too tired to give further information here except to say this will certainly impact everything over the next number of weeks as the family in Oregon decide on the arrangements for the memorial service and burial.
Therefore, I expect that my blogs will be irregular and sparse for the next few weeks. Thank you all for your prayers for his healing. Now I ask for your prayers for strength and support for the family to get through this most difficult time.
Love you all,
James
