Here are important details about our office move which is now in progress. We have been notified of a major increase of the rent for our office space. Asheville has the highest rents of any city in North Carolina—ugh! We cannot handle it financially, so we are moving the office. I was dreading the time that would be required for such a move. Even to find a new space was something I was expecting to be very time-consuming.
But praise God, for He very quickly provided a suitable location! He did it through my IT Manager, Jesse, whom some of you have met at our Conferences. Within just a few days Jesse spotted some commercial office space which is located in Fletcher, NC. The town of Fletcher is in Henderson County, the county immediately south of Buncombe County, of which Asheville is the county seat.
Roxanne and I had moved our residence to Fletcher back in the middle of 2006, and shortly thereafter I had to move from my then office space in a building in Asheville which the owner had just sold. So SKM offices have been in the same location in Asheville since then, November 2006.
The landlord in Asheville, Tim, has been very kind and generous to me for these past 18 years, keeping the SKM office rent well below market value. It will now rent for about $2300/month which is at fair market value.
The new location is 500 SF smaller and so Jesse, Sandy (my part-time clerical assistant), and I are already packing up my 5,000+ volume library and other things as we brainstorm on how to downsize and get all the bookcases, filing cabinets, computers, audio-visual equipment, and other appurtenances into the new space.
I signed the lease agreement on the new office last week. We have possession of it as of September 1st. We will have to be out of the 716 Brookshire Street, Asheville space by the end of September.
I just gave the 30-notice of vacating to Tim, my friend and soon-to-be former landlord. In the new office, we will have a new internet provider so please note the new email address is James@StoneKingdom.org. (Upper or lower case does not matter. I capitalize some words for greater legibility.) The former email address StoneKingdom@charter.net, will soon be disconnected.
Likewise, our postal mailing address, PO Box 5695, Asheville, NC 28813 will be closing. Therefore, please immediately make note that our new mailing address (which is also the street address of the new office) is: 4110 Hendersonville Road, Suite 80, Fletcher, NC 28732.
Since there are many offices and businesses in the two office buildings there, it is very important to be sure to include “Suite 80” on the address. Mail can be addressed to either Stone Kingdom Ministries and/or to James W. Bruggeman.
Also, if you have the pre-addressed reply envelopes from our monthly Feed My Sheep mailings with the PO Box address on them, please trash them. DO NOT simply scratch out the old PO Box address and write our new address.
With the pre-printed bar code on the bottom, the envelope will automatically be sent to the old PO Box address. We will have the new ones printed to include with the October FMS mailing.
