It is getting late in the afternoon, so I only have time for a brief report. It consumed the better part of my working day just to get my early vote cast—but I’m not complaining, that is great news!
First, when I left my office this morning, it took me many minutes just to be able to get out of my parking lot. Traffic was so very and unusually heavy. My new office is on a major thoroughfare through WNC. It is US Highway 25.
Normally, it is fairly busy, but today it was extraordinary. I thought no one was going to let me out so I could head down to Hendersonville, the county seat of Henderson County, where the Board of Elections is located.
Once I got on Interstate 26, it was moderate traffic southbound, but the northbound lanes were moving extremely slowly…almost like a parking lot for about four miles. Then it dawned on me.
President Trump was scheduled to hold a rally in Asheville today at 3 p.m. and I will bet dollars to donuts that much of the traffic (mostly cars, not tractor-trailers) was headed into Asheville for the big rally. I hope to get home early enough to catch some highlights in the Newsmax evening opinion shows.
Anyhow, I was stunned a second time as I neared the Board of Elections for early voting. I had deliberately chosen not to cast my ballot on the first few days (last Thursday and Friday) because I expected high volume. And indeed, it was!
But this was amazing! There were traffic control police everywhere on the streets leading to the entrances to the BOE. We had to take a detour to go back into the neighborhood behind the BOE and the line of cars was about eight or ten blocks long.
I finally got in and parked and went through the process of showing my ID (hurray for that!), then was given my ballot, and the BOE worker showed me how to insert it into a voting machine.
First, it was the touch screen process. Fairly simple. Then you review your selections and when finished, press the exit screen which then causes the machine to print out your selections for all the offices/candidates.
I read it and it was correct. Then you take it to another machine which scans your ballot. The machine keeps the ballot and the worker awards the voter with an “I voted” sticker.
I lament the fact that we are still using machines. They looked different from what we used in 2022 which makes me wonder if the BOE had just purchased new machines for the 2024 election. (All the NC county BOEs are Dem-controlled, because they are appointed by the Governor, who is the far-leftist, Roy Cooper.)
As I left the building, I ran into several friends who are candidates on this ballot, and finally I chatted with Brett, our Henderson County Republican Party chairman. As I related to him my desire to do away with the cursed machines and have only paper ballots, one day voting, counting at the precinct level, etc., he agreed.
Then, he told me that he had already seen reports that these new ballots like we were using were already being reported as being “fudged” in three other states. I had looked at my printed ballot to make sure it printed the candidates that I had voted for. It was correct.
But in those three other states, Brett said, some people had noticed that they had voted straight Republican ballots, but their printed ballot had been completely reversed and showed that they had voted straight Democrat tickets!
I also recognized the nomenclature of our new machines. Yep! You guessed it… they are from Dominion—the very company that will someday be proven in courts to have stolen the 2020 election.
Most of us recognize that as fact already, but the courts thus far have not allowed those cases to proceed. You lack standing, they have told the petitioners. We say, the machines have got to go!
It is not merely that they could reverse the printing on the ballot before it is even scanned. But after they are scanned, a simple click of a mouse somewhere could reverse how ever many votes are needed for the Dems to steal the elections again.
Nonetheless, the numbers of people voting early here in my county are swamping previous elections. This can only mean that the Republicans are heeding the call to vote early. This bodes very well for those who love God, their country and our Constitution! Pray and Vote Early!!!
