We saw the prophecy through Isaac concerning his sons, Jacob and Esau, that the elder (Esau) would serve the younger (Jacob). The birthright came to Jacob-Israel. His descendants were chosen by God to be His servants throughout history and into the Kingdom Age and beyond.
However, there was another prophecy back in Genesis, in chapter 27, which is fundamental to understanding history, ancient and modern! As we recall from Genesis 25:30 that Edom means “red,” Isaac also gave this astounding and very far-reaching prophecy about Esau-Edom’s red descendants. I have added the names in brackets for clarity. God, through Isaac, is speaking to Esau:
Genesis 27:40 And by thy sword [Esau,] shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother [Jacob]; and it shall come to pass when thou [Esau] shalt have the dominion, that thou [Esau] shalt break his [Jacob’s] yoke from off thy neck.
In other words, there would be a time in history when Red Edom would be able to reverse the positions in the wrestling match, and Red Edom would get on top for a time. My friends, we are there. Red Edom has been on top for some time now.
As we chronicle the rise of financial Babylon, we could speak of other families, and we will, but we shall pay special attention to Rothschild family as being key players in financial Babylon. And do you know what the name Rothschild translates to in English? Red Shield!
So is your heavenly Father thinking a couple moves ahead with all his chess pieces or what? Well, of course, He has it all mapped out. Did the founder of the Rothschild dynasty, Mayer Amschel Bauer, come up with that name change all by himself? Or do you think your Father might have put the idea in his mind?
We will have much more to say about the Red Edom connection in lectures to come. So, as I mentioned early in this lecture, as papal Rome was declining in its power as religious/ecclesiastical Babylon in the 1800s, the era of the domination of nations through the money power was coming to the fore.
Now I state that very carefully: it was coming to the fore. That implies it had been there all along, and indeed, that is what I believe the prophecies in the book of Daniel indicate and what is now becoming evident.
One of the great mysteries of this entity called Mystery Babylon is the fact that the power of money has always been the controller or the head since the time of Nebuchadnezzar. That is why Babylon was symbolized as the head of gold. The head is the ruler of the body. Gold has ruled the empires prophesied in the book of Daniel all down through the centuries, almost entirely behind the scenes.
Even during the centuries of European Christian-Israel’s domination by the church of Rome, it was always the money power which called the shots behind the scenes. In some periods it was all wrapped up and personified in one man—the pope. And, as we have seen, the Pierleone family managed to leap from their banking power into the papal throne itself on three separate occasions.
In the days before the flood, men lived for centuries. Men like Nimrod could and did plot and plan quite long range all by themselves. They themselves lived long enough to obtain great power and do great evil.
Today, with almost everyone living less than one century, one needs to pass the plan on to one’s family (or a secret society or corporate/business entities) to accomplish long-range plots. Very frequently, all three are intertwined: certain families, secret societies, and business entities.
You may recall Rabbi Prinz’s thoughts about this in connection with the Pierleonis. Here is a short quotation from several lectures ago:
Rabbi Dr. Prinz begins the story with a man named Baruch Pierleone, who as a Jew, felt the sting of being a member of a despised minority. Quoting from page 29 of Popes from the Ghetto: (all emphasis mine—JWB)
“Was it then that Baruch began to work on that blueprint for his family? Recounting the hundred and eight years from 1030, the year of the Pierleone conversion, until the death of [Pope] Anaclet II, one cannot help but think of such a master plan.
“For the conversion of the Pierleoni was not merely a maneuver to gain acceptance in Roman society. When the ordinary Jew became a Christian, he was from then on in most respects just like the others. But the Pierleoni were not ’just like the others.’ It is interesting that some historians have called them the ’Rothschilds of the Middle Ages.’
(Mayer Amschel Rothschild)
“Of course, the Rothschilds never converted. Until this day they are Jewish leaders in England and France,… But they, too, had their master plan, first conceived by Amschel Rothschild… They pursued their aims as relentlessly as the Pierleoni.”
I agree with the learned Dr. Prinz. In the 1700s, “Amschel Rothschild conceived a master plan and they pursued their aims as relentlessly as the Pierleoni.” What was that master plan? It is easy to see in hindsight—if one is willing to do some homework—just look at the results.
They control nations through the power of money. That fact is documented thoroughly in countless books about the Rothschilds, books both favorable and critical. We will come back to this thread later.
Before we close this chapter, I want to address just briefly the second thread, the one which concerns the Stone Kingdom. I will not be able to get very far on this but let’s turn once again in our studies to Daniel, chapter 2.
I had asked the questions: just who and or what is the stone? And what is the relationship of the stone to the kingdom. Well, it occurs to me now that we need to back up just a little bit first, and identify one more component of the image.
Because in previous lectures, we have identified the head of gold—at least in its first manifestation as Nebuchadnezzar’s empire, then we identified the chest and arms of silver, the belly and thighs of brass, then the legs of iron as the pagan Roman empire, followed by the papal Roman empire. But notice that it says in verse 33:
Daniel 2:33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
So what does the clay represent? Many Bible commentaries from all viewpoints and denominations simply slide right over the mention of the clay, which tells me they didn’t have a clue. Calvin at least tried.
John Calvin (1509-1564)
In my library I have the 22-volume set of Calvin’s Commentaries, in which I found that he spent several full pages of fine print trying to explain how the feet of iron and clay means that the feet were weak, due to the admixture of clay. This means, Calvin explained, that the Roman Empire fell of its own weight and corruption. Which is certainly true, but it still does not identify the clay!
But at least Dr. Albert Barnes (1798-1870) begins down the right track in his Barnes’ Notes commentary set when he theorizes that the clay must represent some kind of inferior people as opposed to the nobility and they could not cling together and so forth.
If it were necessary, I would quote a few lengthy paragraphs from a more contemporary author, but let this much suffice:
“It would be difficult indeed for the modern expositor not to see…that the natural symbolism of the clay is a reference to the republican and democratic forms of government which in the modern world have been mingled with the surviving remnants of dying imperialism.”
This contemporary author goes on to attempt to make a case for the clay symbolizing the common man. As I read this entire lengthy commentary, I had made a note to self in the margin: “This section is a perfect example of the ‘blindness in part’ that was to happen to Israel.” Did this author never consider examining what clay symbolizes in the Bible instead of talking about its “natural symbolism?”
Or did he see it, and then choose to ignore it because it did not fit with his denomination’s theology? It is irrelevant which denomination this author adhered to because none of them see the Christian Israel identity connection. Let us see how the Bible interprets itself:
Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD [Yahweh], thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
This is confirmed in Jeremiah, chapter 18:
Jeremiah 18:3 Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
Israel is the clay. Remember how I taught you how the ten-tribed House of Israel never returned to the old land of Israel, but they migrated over the centuries into and eventually overspread Europe.
And while there were, and are yet to this day, Israelites over all parts of Europe and beyond, the further north and west one goes the more densely it is populated with Israelites.
But at the time of the fall of the Roman Empire, and all through the reign of the little horn, they were mingled among the non-Israelite people who comprised the ten toes of Nebuchadnezzar’s vision.
We are just getting started in this exploration, but we shall have to close this chapter at this juncture. In surfboard parlance, I guess you could say we are “hanging ten.”(grinning) Anyhow, we will continue next time not only with the feet and toes of clay, the House of Israel, but also with the House of Red Edom.
