Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
“Wiles:” cunning arts, deceit, craft, trickery. The Greek word is methodeia, which is the obvious root of our English word method.
As Christians are growing increasingly aware of the “wiles of the devil,” we have understood part of our SKM mission as being to help expose the methods of the Mystery Babylonians which they are using to ravage, plunder, and kill the flock of God.
For if we do not know the methods of exactly how the devil is attempting to destroy us, then how shall we “stand against” those wiles?
Thus, in our monthly publication, Feed My Sheep, we teach all things related to the Bible, which includes history (the fulfillment of Bible prophecies), and biblical guidance on how to live our individual lives as well as our national life.
The proper role of government certainly occupies a very prominent place in our provision of “food” for the sheep of His flock.
All of that is to say that we also seek to provide encouragement along the way with our hope (divine assurance) of victory. In our present national circumstances, we have for a long time frequently encouraged our readers to be active in civic affairs, beginning at the local level.
In order to lead by example, to not be a hypocrite (“do as I say, not as I do”), and to not be like the barber who needs a haircut, we ourselves have been very active in our local civic affairs.
There is no time today to share it all with you—I have a number of unwritten blogs—in which we could detail many encouraging things we are finding in our own locale.
Let me share the most recent one with you. Due to my civic activity, I came to the attention of a small group of local citizens (less than 20 is my best guess) who are quite influential in local political affairs. They have monthly private meetings.
I was invited to speak to them. I accepted and spoke for about 40 minutes, plus did a Q & A for another half hour. It was very well received as far as I can tell. One member, in a phone call yesterday asked me if I could speak to them again, perhaps in August. Of course, I replied, I’d be honored to do so.
If you have noticed in the news lately, the Leftist Democrat socialists and communists have been hammering their latest buzz phrase. From Trump, to all his allies in government in Congress and elsewhere, to all MAGA supporters, even to those not necessarily MAGA activists, but who are pro-life, and/or are making their voices heard at school board meetings—they/we are now all being labeled, named and called by the Left, “a threat to our democracy.”
All the fake news, the Babylonian Media (the BM) have been parroting that phrase ad nauseam. In view of that drumbeat by the Pied Pipers of the Left, I began my talk with a smile as I greeted the local conservative group,
“Good afternoon, my fellow right-wing extremists! Well, frankly, I don’t know if you are, or not. But I want to talk to you about that today. Let’s examine the language of political discourse.”
I chose to speak about the power of words and language, in particular about the word democracy, and simultaneously about the irrationality of the Left-Right political spectrum which everyone has been programmed to accept.
It is a false choice. I challenged them to reject the label that we are “right-wingers.” I then spent some time discussing that, and with the use of four hand-out charts, showed them an alternate way to view the political spectrum, with those who advocate total government on the Left and anarchists (no government) on the extreme Right.
We who stand for the Constitution and for our Republic are at the sweet spot, precisely in the middle of a true and common sense political spectrum. As the Founders gave it to us, the Constitution embodies the least amount of government necessary for a safe and orderly society with the maximum amount of liberty for the individual citizens.
When I repeated the latest Leftist talking point, about us being “a threat to our democracy,” I exclaimed, “Darn right! We ARE a threat to YOUR democracy! We want nothing to do with it.”
Then I proceeded to illustrate the vital differences between a democracy and a republic; and why it is so very important to us on the Right—oops, I mean in the center of the political spectrum—why conservative Constitutionalists must eschew referring to us as a democracy.
Nor are we a democratic republic. Away with democracy. Do not use their power words. Remove their power by our use of the proper words. And obviously, our greatest power words are the Word of God.
In Federalist Paper #10, James Madison wrote the following concerning democracies: “…democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.”
That is why the Left constantly hammers into our consciousness that we are a democracy. They want violence. It is anarchy and it leads to total government.
We have mentioned in several blogs—if memory serves—that we are encouraged when we see on the best conservative major media network, Newsmax, that some of their really good opinion hosts (Chris Salcedo, Rob Schmitt, Greg Kelly, and others) will from time to time emphasize that we are a republic, not a democracy.
All well and good… But to ever see the BM, (CNN, MSNBS, ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.) let escape onto their airwaves the truth about republics and democracies—it would never happen.
Except it just did happen! And it happened within three or four days after my talk to the local group of influencers. Not that I am suggesting any connection, but it did my heart good to see that change is in the air, when even CNN lets it out.
I did not see CNN’s entire five-minute segment because I saw it clipped (differently) on two different opinion hosts programs on Newsmax, one on Monday evening and the other last night. They clipped some of the same portion, but the one last night, included the CNN reporter’s final comment/opinion, in which he again referred to “our democracy.”
But the main portion was his man-on-the-street-style interview of men and women evidently at a Trump event (they all had on Trump T-shirts, etc.). The reporter asked something to the effect of Trump being a threat to our democracy.
And in each case, the clip that CNN showed was with each of them correcting the reporter in no uncertain language, such as (paraphrasing) “Wait a minute, there! First of all, we are not a democracy; we are a republic.” Some respondents went on to quote Ben Franklin; another gave the Madison quotation.
It was thrilling to see the people waking up and taking back our language. We are encouraged and we hope you will be also—the great awakening is happening! Praise ye the Lord!
